Pivot Engineering Company Limited (PECL) and its partners, including Siemens Transmission & Distribution SAS France and Siemens Nigeria Limited, have completed LOT 13 power transmission projects for the upgrade of substations in Ajah, Lekki and Alagbon (lkoyi) areas of Lagos NDPHC/NIPP dream of improving the transmission company of Nigeria at lot 13 was actualized through Pivot Engineering Company Limited. The LOT 13 project is a unique project, which have three project offices; Ajah, Lekki and Alagbon Transmission Substation. Pivot engineering is the first indigenous company to procured and installed gas insulated substation for Transmission Company of Nigeria, which takes place at LOT 13 site, which are: Ajah, Lekki, and Alagbon, Lagos respectively. Pivot Engineering procured and installed newly 330Kv and another 132kv GIS, synchronized with the existing 330kv and 132kv GIS in Ajah Transmission Station, which increased Voltage Capacity of the Station. Due to the development in Lekki region, A new 132kv GIS Switchgear was procured and installed by Pivot Engineering Company Limited, in other to bring the power closer to the Load Centre. This process involves a lot of factors considerations such as Space, Cost, Reliability, Maintenance, and Insulation type. All these factors make GIS, the most suitable switchgear for Lekki Transmission Station. The Lekki Transmission was later upgraded by installing a new 330kv GIS with 300MVA transformer, taken the installed capacity from 96MW to 240MW. The station was commission in 2016, after synchronizing with 330kv GIS. Also, Alagbon 330kv Substation was synchronized with the existing AIS Substation, which was rehabilitated after collapsed incident. Pivot Engineering procured and installed 330kv GIS synchronized with the existing AIS to form a Hybrid System, increasing the Station capacity to 312MVA. Lot 13 project was done, with classical Engineering Technology, with basement(underground) for easy cable passage and unique Earthing style, using the Earthing methods such as; SCHLUMBERGER, DIPOLE-DIPOLE, and TRIPOD method with the latest digitalize Earth Counters, for safety of Lives and properties. All these upgrade done by Pivot Engineering had put smiles on the faces of Nigerians and also boost our Power sector.
